Canary Migrates

03/30/2009

Alejandro Adams creates a mysterious dystopia in his organ-harvesting-themed creepy funny twisting feature, "Canary". After screening at San Jose's Cinequest festival early this month, the next stop is New York's Migrating Forms festival (formerly the New York Underground Film Festival).  9:30, Thursday, April 16th at the Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan's East Village.

If you're interested in more press or an interview with the director, check out the Canary website.

Variety published a review of Canary this week.

Canary Juice

Canary, a feature project I shot a couple of days on over the last year, has received one and then another review prior to release.

I am so excited about this incredible film.  Is it science fiction?  Sort of, but in the present day and world.  Is it dystopian?  That depends on what you think hope is and where you can mine it.

A huge ensemble cast wrangled and inspired by Alejandro Adams, a true pleasure to work with and one of the most engaged filmmakers I've met.

I appear as a...well, you'll see.  Watch for a release date next spring.
