One marathon session at the final hour is sometimes the way to go.  So many thanks to Willy and Marco for helping me bring this song into being for Annette Bohle's "Tacos de Pescado" project, directed by Quinne Brown and edited by Erin Coker.

There's a premiere screening on Tuesday, March 2nd at the Makeout Room.  Donation at the door.  Other projects to screen.  I'll post a link once it hits the web.

This is a cool venue.  Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams (Sr. & Jr.), and Marty Robbins all played here back in the day.  There are still photos on the wall from that era.  I gather that the place has been through several management changes over the years, and that the current scene is a big improvement.  It's a big, beautiful room.

The boys and I played a few songs at their first open mic tonight.  Don't be offended you didn't get hipped to the lick up front.  I needed to do one by myself first.  It was all right.  We didn't sound too bad, and it was fun.  Boom, on to the next thing.  Ah, at last.  Well, I played drums in a one-off house-party band once, and sang for the old office holiday party band, but axe in hand, mic in face, singing stuff I wrote in front of a band?  A first.  Awesome.  It's never too late to start having fun.
