Just finished with a three sessions focused on getting repped and called in. Manager Mitch Clem and his three guests laid out how casting and representation works. Lots of nuance, detailed attention to cover letters, but most of all hearing from commercial agent Laura Bowman at BBR Talent, theatrical agent Bobby Moses from Stone Manners Salners, and casting director Mark Sikes.

Energetic and hilarious group of actors. Karaoke a couple blocks away. What more do you want? Meeting people and doing things.

Been a while! Since we last spoke, I shot some gigs, wrote some songs, started playing them on the piano at the Hotel Utah's legendary open mic, and then moved to Los Angeles. What? Yes. I did. At last.

Feels like I came ashore.

Spent the afternoon getting a taped submission ready. I think it worked out pretty well. Edited into the evening and totally forgot to watch the premiere of Body of Proof, Dana Delaney's new show. Remember her back from China Beach? She had an amazing Guest Star turn on Battlestar Galactica, too. And then opposite Tim Hutton in the miniseries Kidnapped. Love. Her. Work.

Greasy Squeegee is at it again, changing genres to keyboard electronica industrial dance mantra jams. How does this relate to acting? It's all related, man. What if I have the chance to play a crazed electronica musician? See?

Recently enjoyed jamming with old friends at Secret Studios, went to a party on a roof, caught up some recent episodes of Justified, and spent some time mastering at the studio. Finally scored a MIDI keyboard. I am done with my current level of recording skills. I need to program drums, arrange multiple instruments, and quit screwing around.

New Year's Eve was mellow. Small group of friends and family and no drama. I prefer to take it easy on amateur night. Spent the weekend exploring neighborhoods and contending with crazy weather. Icy winds, torrential rain, and a return trip that involved circumventing the closed Grapevine and getting stuck in an epic gridlock south of Santa Barbara on the 101. The sunset was unbelieveable. Auditions picking up slowly but surely. Starting to master a batch of songs.

It's about over, people. 2010. Working on an amazing new batch of songs. Yeah I know, you haven't heard the first ones yet. I predict multiple releases in 2011. Slow month for me in the industry. Made a family trip and now heading to LA for New Year's Eve.

You never know where you're going to run into an actor, director, writer, and you never know when they're going to be wearing another hat. Got to an audition for an old classmate of mine today; had no idea that's who called me in.

Wow. That was fun. We'd pulled a open mic night some months back, but this was a real live show. Thanks to Karmic Trigger for the slot and great dance time. It's quite likely that's the most fun I've ever had. That's saying something.
